The Event
HackIllinois is University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign’s premiere collegiate hackathon. This year, we’re celebrating our 10th Hackiversary!
Join us in-person on February 24th to February 26th at the Siebel Center for Computer Science and CIF! Participants can work individually or in teams to submit projects to a specific track for a chance to win prizes. Let’s make memories!

Mobile Apps 
All attendees will need to download the HackIllinois app to check in, collect points, get event notifications, and view the leaderboard. We’ll be using it during the event to make updates with any schedule changes and send out reminders for food, workshops, and other mini-events!
Instagram 
This is where we’ll be posting more of the fun, behind-the-scenes aspects of our event! You’ll get an opportunity to see the work that goes into making the event a possibility through insights from teams and profiles of staff members.
Twitter 
This is where we’ll be posting updates with regard to our schedule, additions to our event, and other things we come up with!
Discord 
Our discord server will be the secondary hub for our event. You can use this to communicate with attendees and company representatives, get help from mentors, and receive event reminders.
How do I participate?
You must apply in order to participate in HackIllinois. The application deadline has been extended to Wednesday, February 15th at 11:59 PM CST. Admissions will be based on a weighted lottery, and applying early will increase your chances of admission. Decisions will be released shortly after both application deadlines, and if you’re accepted, there will be a limited time to RSVP before we reallocate your spot to another student.
How can I stay updated with what is going on at the event?
Please download the HackIllinois app (available shortly before the event on the App Store and Play Store)! Our website will also be continually updated with new information throughout the year. We will also be sending out reminders for various workshops and events through our mobile apps and Discord.
Who can register
Anyone 18 years or older and enrolled in a high school, college, or university (or left school during the current school year) can register!
When and where is HackIllinois?
HackIllinois will be held in-person from February 24-26th on UIUC campus.
How do I get to the University of Illinois?
HackIllinois will be providing a bus for students traveling from West Lafayette. If you are a University of Illinois student, please walk or utilize the MTD bus system.
Do I need to have a programming background to participate?
No! People of all skill levels are welcomed.
